During the solicitation process, you may discover that you do not have all the required information to properly approach a foundry to get an accurate quotation. Your first source of information is the procuring agency. In the case of DLA solicitations, the Solicitation that you accessed through DIBBS will have a Solicitation POC (Buyer Name and telephone number). This person should be your initial entry point to get further information or to resolve issues associated with confusing data. In addition, the DLA Internet Bid Board System (DIBBS) also has a Help area: (https://www.dibbs.dla.mil/Refs/help/BSMDibbshelp.htm), with FAQs that will direct you to the right area to assist in resolving solicitation issues. If you are faced with an issue associated with getting bidset data or discrepancies in the bidset, you should send an e-mail to:
Dscr.PdmdDistribution@dla.mil and be very explicit in communicating what the problem is.
Post award, you must contact the post awards administrator or DCMA to resolve any issues that are discovered after you have received a contract.
There are also several DLA programs specifically available to assist in providing input to you regarding casting sources and tooling. These efforts fall under the Engineering Divisions at the DLA Supply Centers and can help with providing non-binding information. This potential support does not alter any of the requirements of the solicitation or contracting processes.
